Tesla extends the Model X range with the 2021 version

Tesla is expanding the range of the Model X with the new 2021 version, according to the new Monroe sticker.

For the second year in a row, Tesla is really moving towards an early model year change like the rest of the auto industry, instead of just changing its model year for cars manufactured in the new year.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been reporting all the changes coming to Model 3 with the new 2021 version, but now it looks like other vehicles in Tesla’s lineup will also get updates.

Some new Model X buyers are taking delivery, and the vehicles are listed with a 2021 VIN number.

Those new vehicles come with a new Monroe sticker that shows a significant range increase (via ColdweatherV on the Tesla Motors Club forum):

The new range is showing 371 miles on a single charge, a significant increase over Tesla’s recently announced 351-mile range.

The new series is still not displayed on EPA’s website.

On Tesla’s website, the Model X is also listed at 351 miles on a single charge, and it’s still listed at 79,990:

Earlier today, we reported on Tesla updating its online online profile for the Model S, but only the changes were related to pricing.

Take the electric

It’s an interesting development. Twenty miles is an extension of a larger range without a new battery pack with more energy.

As far as we know, Model S and Model X are still using Panasonic 18650 cells made in Japan.

Panasonic has recently been talking about improving the energy density of its cells, and the Model X could be the first vehicle to get these cells.

At the moment, it’s just speculation.

Tesla will also be able to further improve efficiency during the powertrain. It certainly won’t be the first time.

For those who are getting a new Tesla car these days, the 10th figure in VIN is the model year, and for Tesla vehicles, the “L” is 2020 and the “M” is the new 2021 model year.
