Tesla has stopped selling the 35,000-dollar version of the Model 3 simultaneously, which has been somewhat modest since its launch, with a new 2021 model of the year refresh.
Long before delivering the model, CEO Elon Musk promised that it would be an electric car for the public starting at 35,000.
While Tesla achieved mass production of the Model Dell 3, the price point of 35,000 was insignificant.
That spirit issue was repeatedly mentioned by Tesla over the years, and in 2019, AutoTomeker finally introduced the Model 3 Standard Range version at 35,000,000 – a promise made a long time ago was delivered and skeptics proved wrong.
However, the auto tomer went away a few months after it started production.
It stopped listing or even stopped production of the 35,000th version of the Model 3, but can still be said to make the promised 35,000 3 models, a Model 3 Standard Range Plus (now $ 38,000) and The software will sell – Lock some features with a discount of 3,000 dollars:
“Given the popularity of the Standard Plus over the standard, we’ve decided to simplify our production operations to further optimize costs, reduce complexity and streamline operations. As a result, the Model 3 Standard will now be a software-limited version of the Standard Plus software, and we’re removing it from the order online menu, which means customers will have to call us or visit several hundred Tesla stores to get it. “
That “-f-the-menu” $ 35,000 Model 3 has been available to Tesla buyers for the last two and a half years and some owners have actually gone through that process and bought the Tesla Model 3 at es 35,000.
Now Electric has learned that Tesla has decided not to do it for the new Model 3 vehicles. – At least at this time.
Sources familiar with the matter told Electric that Tesla had informed its staff that they were not allowed to “downgrade” the 2021 Model 3 vehicles to the “standard range” and sell them for 35 35,000.
They still have the software-limiting features of the 2020 Model 3 Standard Range Plus vehicles that are still in inventory and it sells to customers as the Model 3 Standard Range for ,000 35,000, but not the new 2021 Model 3, which comes with new features.
Take the electric
This “-f-the-menu” thing was always weird to me.
Obviously, if Tesla does not want to sell that version of the vehicle, it will be listed as an option on its config like other versions.
Why why I can’t say for sure, but for me, it felt like they just wanted to point out that they actually sold 35,000 Model 3s as promised.
Now is he even running away from it?
However, they may change that in the future.
It could be that the demand for the 3 Model 3 of 2021 is currently high and as a Tesla software-limited standard range they do not want to sell it in the low gross market until they reduce its demand.
For those who have the price, I could see them being allowed to downgrade to the new Model 3s sometime next year.
Normally, we would have asked Tesla for a little clarification about the situation, but as we noted earlier, they no longer have a press relationship department.
