Tennessee WR Adonai Mitchell has made her college decision

It was hinted at and provoked on Sunday night, but it finally came true on Monday. Adonai Mitchell, a 3-year-old WR from Tennessee, officially gave up her Ole Miss commitment to Georgia.

The 6-foot-3, 190 pound was originally from Texas, but he moved to Tennessee for his last seasons of high school football. Mitchell ranks as the nation’s No. 61 WR prospect and No. 371 general recruit by 2021 in the 247Sports Composite ratings.

She initially chose Ole Miss in April among the top 5, which included Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, and Virginia Tech.

Mitchell becomes the eleventh engagement for the Bulldogs in the 2021 cycle. This decision now moves UGA to No. 13 nationally for the 2021 cycle in the 247Sports Composite ratings.

Mitchell’s pull was initially reported by the Tennesseean on Sunday, but he did not mention it on his social media. There was no “Go Dawgs” from Kirby Smart Twitter account or a retweet from Georgia catchers coach Cortez Hankton.

All that changed on Monday afternoon.

Mitchell will establish himself as a very intriguing prospect given the fact that he was a senior in 2019. He then reclassified to the 2021 cycle to spend most of the rest of this year training for his first college season.

Yes, you read that correctly. Georgia has just committed to a high school graduate who will not be playing football in the fall. That’s regardless of the game situation for high school football in Tennessee.

Why was Georgia? He was quoted by the Tennessean on Sunday night..

“You have to have a winning mindset to know that they are going to be a playoff contender (when you go to Georgia),” Mitchell told Tom Kreager. “You know you are not settling for less.”

He told the Tennessean that he planned to enroll in early January 2021. The 3-star also becomes the first WR recruit for the Bulldogs in the 2021 cycle. That comes after the show signed perhaps its deepest class of recruits from wide receivers with five new charges for Hankton’s room in 2020.

Check out Mitchell’s 2019 senior year film below. In what should certainly be seen as an advantage, he played as a quarterback and catcher for his Cane Ridge High School team.

His profile on his HUDL prospect page also credits Mitchell with a speed of 4.5 on the 40-yard dash. According to Kreager, he had 28 catches for 417 yards and five touchdowns in his only season at Cane Ridge last fall.

Mitchell is now training in Texas. He plans to sign in December and sign up in January.
