A large Tennessee jury has charged a mother with 19 charges, including two counts of misconduct, in connection with the death of her toddler daughter.
The remains of Evelyn Boswell were found in the home of a relative on March 6th. She was 15 months old and had been missing since late December.
Police arrested her mother, 18-year-old Megan Boswell, on Feb. 25 on charges of filing a false police report.
The charge came down on Wednesday with 19 counts in total. Twelve involved false reports, two for misconduct, and one each for child abuse, neglect, tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse and failure to die, WJHL reported.

The counts of criminal charges were related to the allegations of child abuse and child abuse abuse, Sullivan County District Attorney Barry Staubus told local media during a newsletter after the allegations were made.
Boswell’s bond was set at $ 1 million. Their next hearing is scheduled for Friday, August 28th.
Sheriff Jeff Cassidy said that during a month-long investigation, authorities ruled out other leads and established themselves at Boswell as the lone suspect in the case.
He said he could not comment further on evidence gathered during the investigation due to the ongoing prosecution.
But he claimed that Boswell made misleading statements that the investigation was complicated.
In one instance, she is accused of telling investigators that Evelyn was with her father, Ethan Perry. Investigators determined he was stationed at the Louisiana Army base at the time and that the child was not with him. In another incident, police said they were led to search a campground in Virginia where they found no trace of the girl.

Evelyn’s grandmother, Angela Boswell, and her friend, William McCloud, were also arrested in North Carolina earlier this year on warrants unrelated to the case.
