Tennessee governor: ‘One thing this vaccine won’t solve or remedy is selfishness’

While vaccine authentication is a turning point in the epidemic, the self-destructive reality is that Tennessee people are getting sick, Lee told reporters Thursday.

On Wednesday, 11,410 new cases were reported in the state, a new record high since the outbreak began.
The decisions people make about the Thanksgiving holiday have a huge impact on the hospital system across the state, Lee said.

He said, “This vaccine will not solve one thing, or the remedy is selfishness or indifference to what has happened to the neighbors around us.”

Lee added that the vaccine is not a cure for the stupid decision of how we collect, or that someone refuses to wear a mask and it will not cure the idea that someone else’s decision will not affect that person’s life.

Tennessee expects 56,550 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to begin arriving at their hospitals nationwide.

Earlier this week, the state health department announced that it had the first shipment of 975 doses of Pfizer vaccine as an emergency backup in the event of a hospital supply being damaged.
