Houston Tomlin – The child who played Ricky Bobby’s son in ‘Talladega Nights’ – proudly raised to serve his country, but unfortunately suffers from PTSD and depression, which led to his suicide … his mother told TMZ.
Michelle Tomlin Tells us … his son lived in the U.S. for about 6 years. Served honorably in the Army, received much acclaim as an E-4 expert in the 101st Airborne Division.
Houston’s awards include the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Global War Medal on the Terrorism Service, but Mitchell says he was most proud of earning Air Assault Wings.
“Houston got a different set of wings this week,” says Mitchell, and while the family is suffering from loss, she says they want to emphasize who they are having trouble reaching out to and seeking help.
He says … “Houston Lee Tomlin was a lot more than a child actor in ‘Talladega Nights’. My handsome boy brought joy to everyone he met and made them feel special. Will stay.
We are told there will be a full military funeral in Houston, and her family marched to a weekend event in Helena, Alabama to raise awareness for Pte suicide and PTSD support.

Along with his military service, he was known for playing foul-mouthed and Walker Bobby, whose eldest son Will FarrellCharacter in the 2006 comedy Come, “Talladega Nights: The Ballad Balf Ricky Bobby.”
