During the visit to Taiwan, Undersecretary Colac’s delegation will host a banquet from President Tsai Ing-wen and a meeting with Chief Executive Su Zhenchang, Foreign Minister Wu Zhaoxie and other senior Chinese government officials. Undersecretary Colac and others will also exchange views with officials from relevant ministries and committees on Taiwanese and US economics, industrial supply chain security, democracy and Indo-Pacific affairs.
Ou Jiangan said that ever since US State Department Assistant Secretary for Asia and the Pacific David Stilwell announced on Aug. 31 that Taiwan and the United States would establish a new economic dialogue mechanism, Taiwan and the United States have been doing preparations actively. We take advantage of this visit to Taiwan to participate in the memorial service to exchange views with Under Secretary Kolac, and we will continue to coordinate the format and timing of the relevant dialogue with the United States.
