The Bureau of Meteorology said Typhoon 7’s current storm wind radius is about 140 kilometers in the north quadrant and 100 kilometers in the south quadrant, with an average radius of about 120 kilometers. Affected by the typhoon’s peripheral circulation, the seas around Taiwan are gradually rising today. There are strong gusts greater than 10 in the open coastal areas of the Hengchun Peninsula and the southeast (including Lanyu and Green Island), and the open coastal areas of the eastern and western half and Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu have strong gusts of magnitude 8 to 9. The Taipei Basin is affected by topography, and there are also strong gusts; Keelung’s north coast, eastern half (including Lanyu and Ludao), southwest and Hengchun peninsula are prone to long waves.
