A Uni Air military-chartered flight, which was originally scheduled to fly from Kaohsiung Xiaogang Airport to Dongsha on the 15th, was canceled due to the Hong Kong District Administration Center refusing to enter the re-entry. The following week it was canceled due to weather problems on the 22nd. It was suspended for two flights so far, at 8:35 this morning. The sub-chartered plane finally took off smoothly and flew from Xiaogang to Dongsha to carry the officers and soldiers stationed on the island, demonstrating Gu’s determination to protect Taiwan, arriving in Dongsha at 9:45 a.m.
The Dongsha charter flight was signed by the Maritime Patrol Administration and Lirong Airlines. The original plan was to depart from Xiaogang Airport every Thursday and the flight would last between 70 and 80 minutes. After arriving on the island for a short stay, I would fly back from Dongsha around noon.
However, Lirong’s military charter flight with the number B7-9051 took off from Xiaogang on the 15th and was temporarily notified when it wanted to pass through the Hong Kong District Administration Center. No entry into the danger zone below 26,000 feet. Lirong assigned the ATR72-600. The propeller type of aircraft performed rental duties with a maximum flight altitude of 25,000 feet and was forced to return due to flight safety considerations.
The original charter flight will take off again on the 22nd of this month and has not taken off due to the peripheral circulation of the typhoon, which means that the charter flight has been canceled for two consecutive flights. With officers and soldiers stationed on the island, due to the turmoil in Taiwan and Hong Kong caused by the return on the 15th, this trip attracted more attention.
“Apple News” arrived at Lirong Airlines at Xiaogang Airport at 8 o’clock this morning and asked the ground staff at the counter if the chartered plane took off on time. The ground team only replied “inconvenient answer”. But around 8:10, I heard the broadcast from the airport: “Passengers taking Lirong Airlines Flight 9051 to Dongsha, please board at gate 13.” The flight was confirmed to take off normally today, and the schedule also showed that the flight departed.
The full seat of the Lirongjun charter flight is understood to be 70 passengers, but the sea cruise does not disclose the number of round trips today.
Today, the military chartered flight took off at 8:35 a.m., arriving 15 minutes late from the scheduled time at 8:20. If calculated based on the 70 minute trip, the arrival time is approximately 9:45 am. After arriving in Dongsha, supplying supplies, and bringing the island’s officers and soldiers back to the island, the army-chartered plane is expected to return to Xiaogang Airport at approximately 11:25 a.m.
In an interview this morning, Lai Yujie, secretary of the Southeastern Sands Office of the Maritime Patrol Administration, said the last time the chartered flight did not fly on the 22nd it was due to weather. Lirong Airlines notified the cancellation of scheduled flights on October 22nd. After assessing the weather and flight schedules, we returned this morning. Regarding the vacation rights of officers and soldiers, the Dongsha Command of the Maritime Patrol Administration has explained to the officers and soldiers that the discretionary adjustment of the vacation will not affect the rights and interests of the officers and soldiers. In addition to training, normal functioning will be maintained, and psychological counseling for officers and soldiers and contact with their families will be continuously strengthened.
The media asked if the chartered flight to Dongsha returned on 15 this month due to altitude restrictions. Is this problem solved today? Is the trip smooth after take off this morning? Did you contact Hong Kong first? Lai Yujie said that this part should be requested from the Civil Aviation Administration. (Reported by Yang Shiqun, Wu Huifen, Yang Shiwu / Kaohsiung)
