Shortly after Twitter announced this afternoon that it had permanently suspended US President Trump’s account, Google also stated that it had immediately removed the conservative social media app Parler from its online store.

Google said in a statement that they temporarily removed Parler until developers agreed to implement a review policy to control offensive content on the platform. Apple Inc. limited Parler to submitting a detailed review plan within 24 hours.

Reuters reported that many Trump supporters switched to the Parler social network after companies like Twitter banned them from using the platform’s services. Twitter today permanently deactivated Trump’s account @realDonaldTrump.

Google said in a statement that they found that articles attempting to incite violence in the United States continued to appear on the Parler app.

Google said: “In order to allow users to download applications through our Google Play online store, we require that applications (the industry) conduct robust audits on content that is too excessive. As this urgent threat to public safety continues We will ban this app from our online store until these issues are resolved. “

According to a letter to Parler from the App Store review team of Apple’s online store obtained by Reuters, Apple cited as an example that some participants used Parler to develop a plan to bring weapons in Washington to cause trouble. The protesters rushed to the US Capitol.

Apple said in that letter: “Content that threatens the well-being of others and attempts to incite violence or other illegal acts will never be accepted by the App Store.”

Apple requires Parler to remove “all objectionable content … and any mention of injuring people or attacking government facilities” in the Parler app within 24 hours. Apple also requires Parler to submit a written plan to “screen and filter” such content in the Parler app.
