The President of the Czech Senate, Vedzy, visited Taiwan a few days ago and, in addition to shouting that I am Taiwanese, he also admitted that he regretted not visiting Taiwan earlier. Arriving late, I think they will visit Taiwan soon. Now, not only was Vedzy voted to be re-elected as president of the Senate yesterday (11), but Czech think tanks have also revealed that they will be set up in Taiwan next year.
The People’s Democratic Party (ODS), to which Miloš Vystrčil, Chairman of the Czech Senate, belongs, recently won a majority in the CCP elections with other opposition parties and at the same time attacked pro-China Prime Minister Andrej Babis. Vedzi is the highest official from the Czech Republic who has visited Taiwan so far, and also the first speaker from European countries that have diplomatic relations with Beijing to visit Taiwan. His previous trip to Taiwan was widely regarded as an indicator. Vedzi once said: “We are late to the Czech Republic, but at least I will make up for it to some extent.” And in our country, he is famous for calling me Taiwanese.
According to Czech media reports, in yesterday’s secret ballot, he obtained 73 votes out of 77 votes in the Senate. Opposition parties such as the Popular Democratic Party (ODS), the Greater and Independent Party (STAN), the Tradition, Responsibility and Prosperity Party (TOP 09) and other opposition parties to which Videzi belongs have allied to form the group of largest party in the Senate. The Mayor and the Independent Party also support Vadezi’s reelection as President.
On the other hand, the Czech think tank “European Values Center for Security Policy” also announced on Twitter on the 11th that it plans to open an office in Taiwan next year. At the same time, he also invited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country, Mr. Zeng Houren. VIDEO attended the opening ceremony of the “Stratecom Summit” (Stratcom Summit) and gave a speech.
The “European Value Security Policy Center” introduced Zeng Houren and said that Taiwan’s history has greatly inspired Europe. As a powerful, free and democratic country, Taiwan faces existential threats from China and needs the support of allies. Yang Da, director of the “European Value Security Policy Center,” also announced that the think tank plans to open an office in Taiwan next year. Yanda said that this progress is based on the fact that Taiwanese think tanks and partners are facing hostile forces from China.
