The United States has noted the CCP’s intrusions against its neighbors, including Taiwan. We call on Beijing to suspend its military, diplomatic and economic oppression of Taiwan. It must engage in meaningful dialogue with representatives of the democratically elected government of Taiwan.
We will support our allies in the Indo-Pacific region to jointly promote our prosperity, security and shared economic values, and this includes deepening our ties with democratic Taiwan (which includes deepening our ties with democratic Taiwan).
The United States continues to support the cross-strait peace plan, and this is where the people of Taiwan wait and care. The United States maintains its long-standing commitments in the Three Communiqués, the Taiwan Relations Act, and the six guarantees. We will continue to help Taiwan maintain sufficient self-defense capabilities. Our commitment to Taiwan is rock solid and we will continue to invest our efforts to maintain peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
