A spokesman for Biden’s transition team said Rosenborg had been nominated on Wednesday and will work under the direct leadership of the new head of the National Security Council, Kurt Campbell.
Rosenborg tweeted Thursday: “The arduous nature of this task makes me humble. I am fortunate to be able to join this incredible team to serve the American people again.”
Rosenborg is currently a Principal Investigator for the German Marshall Foundation, an American think tank based in Washington. The foundation has branches in Berlin, Paris, Brussels and other countries.
Rosenborg has been a foreign policy maker for many years and has extensive work experience in government. He was responsible for formulating the policies of China and North Korea in the National Security Council during the Obama era. She worked in the US State Department for many years and held various positions, including director of the office of former Under Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Brinken has been nominated by Biden to serve as secretary of state for the new cabinet.
In 2016, Rosenborg served as a foreign policy adviser to the campaign team of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton (Hillary Clinton). In 2017, she joined the German Marshall Foundation as director of the Democratic Guarantee Alliance.

The South China Morning Post quoted Richard McGregor, a senior fellow at the Lowy Institute, an Australian think tank, as saying, “Laura is focused on the problem of (China) spreading false information. To some extent, this point allows us to see that China’s policy will not only be a foreign policy, but will also involve many issues such as protecting and supporting American democratic institutions. “
McGregor said: “This involves proactive defense against cyberattacks and urging Beijing to increase transparency in many areas and other issues. We must take strong compliance actions to support relevant initiatives.”
