Since the beginning of winter, today comes the first wave of cold current (30). The temperature in Taiwan has dropped significantly. Many tourists have climbed the mountain to the forest recreation area to prepare for the snow appreciation. The Central Meteorological Office continues to issue special low temperature reports until 2:30 pm. The lowest temperature on flat land in northern Taiwan fell at Fugui Corner, New Taipei City, to just 7.9 degrees, while Yangmei and Daxi stations in Taoyuan City, Wugu and Ruifang in New Taipei City fell by below 9 degrees.

According to the Central Meteorological Office’s weather observation temperature classification list, the cold current is moving rapidly south today. The lowest temperature on the island appeared at Yushan Station, which was just -1.4 degrees in the early morning. The flat terrain was at the Fugui corner of New Taipei City, at 7.9 degrees at 2 p.m. The old very low temperature measuring stations appeared at Taoyuan City Bayberry 8.5 degrees, Tea Farm 8.6 degrees, Agricultural Center and Industrial 8.7 degrees, New Taipei City Wugu 8.7 degrees, Ruifang 8.8 degrees, and the Central University of Taoyuan City and Daxi Yongfu fell below 9. Degrees, reached a minimum temperature of 8.9 degrees.

In addition, the high mountain stations in Taichung City, Nantou County and Yilan County reached freezing point at the lowest temperature, between 0.2 degrees and 0.4 degrees.
