According to the Seattle Times, Patterson (MarQuies Demone Patterson), 31, went out with his friends early Sunday to attend a carnival party celebrating Biden’s victory at Cal Anderson Park. At 1 o’clock, a report was received that someone at the party was shot. He rushed to the scene and sent Paterson to shoot nearby Harborview Medical Center for first aid, but he still died of his injuries.
Paterson’s mother emphasized, “He just wants to come out to show respect to the newly elected president and vice president.” He noted that his son went out with friends that night and was going to a street party to celebrate Biden’s victory until he was shot. Everyone was very happy, but I was not expecting an unfortunate incident. Paterson worked in the construction industry, leaving behind his two 10-year-old daughters.
