Regarding recent media reports on suspected adverse reactions from Sanofi Pasteur influenza vaccine, Taiwan Sanofi has the following four points to declare that all batches of Sanofi Pasteur influenza vaccine imported from Taiwan comply with strict quality testing procedures and standards. After passing the inspection and certification of the independent European official drug control laboratory, as well as the strict inspection procedures of the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration, it is only supplied to the Taiwan market. The quality is safe and the public does not have to worry.

According to the CDC recently, there is no abnormal signal from the flu shot. As of October 23, the Department of Disease Control announced that of the 51 adverse events nationwide, Sanofi had a total of 12 cases, of which only one was a serious adverse event and has not been determined to be related to the flu vaccine. Regarding people in Taichung suspected of having acute peripheral neuropathy (GBS) after the flu shot, more research and investigation is currently awaited to determine if it is directly related to the vaccination. If any adverse reaction event is received, Sanofi will follow standard procedures and immediately notify the head office and the Taiwanese authorities in accordance with regulations.

Regarding incidents related to influenza vaccination in Korea, the investigation team of the Korean Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) and the Vaccine Committee have conducted a review. With regard to the Singapore government’s suspension of the administration of two influenza vaccines, including Sanofi Pasteur, Sanofi will work closely with the Singapore authorities to resume the vaccination plan as soon as possible. There are no known adverse events related to influenza vaccine in Singapore.
