Sony Interactive Entertainment officially announced at the PlayStaion livestream conference held early today (17) that the new next-generation console “PlayStation 5 (PS5)” is scheduled to be released in 7 countries, including the United States and Japan, November 12 (Thursday). The recommended price for the standard version of the host with a built-in Blu-ray UHD optical drive is US $ 499, which is roughly equivalent to NT $ 14,590. The MSRP for the digital version of the host without optical drive is US $ 399, which is roughly NT $ 11,660.
PS5 is the latest generation of SIE’s PlayStation family console. Equipped with a processor that integrates AMD Zen 2 octa-core CPU and RDNA 2 GPU, 16GB system memory and 825GB ultra-high-speed custom SSD. Supports the latest hardware accelerated ray tracing processing, up to 8K or 4K 120Hz of screen output with variable refresh rate. Equipped with DualSense wireless controller that supports haptic feedback. It is compatible with older versions of PS4 game software.
The PS5 will be divided into a standard version with a built-in optical disc drive and a digital version without an optical disc drive. The digital version can only download game software digitally over the Internet.
