MAF spokesman Brad Hoagland said Joyce Lin took off from Sentani at 6:27 am local time and sent out a distress signal 2 minutes later. The search and rescue team discovered that the Kodiak 100 plane piloted by Joyce Lin had crashed into nearby Sentani Lake and eventually recovered the body under 40 feet of water. Due to anti-epidemic control measures, there were no other passengers on the plane. The cause of the accident has yet to be investigated by the local civil aviation authority.
