Less than a day after Macron’s interrogation, China announced that it had underestimated the death toll from Wuhan’s new coronary pneumonia, which was more than half the original number.
French President Emmanuel Macron previously criticized in an interview with the British media that China had hidden in the fight against the coronary pneumonia epidemic and said it was “naive” for the outside world to praise the best management of the epidemic by from China.
In an interview with the Financial Times, he said that China did not declare some news related to the epidemic, but did not specify what matters.

There are currently more than 141,000 confirmed cases of new pneumonia in France, killing some 18,000 people.

Macron was asked during his visit whether Western democratic systems are inferior to China’s dictatorship in their ability to cope with the new pneumonia epidemic. He replied that the two cannot be compared.

He also said that western society cannot completely give up its freedom just because it resists the epidemic.
“We cannot accept this. You cannot completely change your genes due to a public health crisis.”
