The Nintendo Switch has reached a total of 68.30 million hardware sales, officially surpassing NES to become Nintendo’s highest-selling home console ever.
The figure comes in Nintendo’s latest earnings report, which states that the console moved 12.53 million units in the six months between April and September 2020. The table below shows true Nintendo home console hardware sales up to September 2020.

Of course, the hybrid nature of the switch means it can also be classified as a handheld console, although there’s still some way to go to beat any of Nintendo’s previous portable machines. It reached the 3DS earlier and could surpass it, currently having a total lifetime sales of 75.94 million units.
Interestingly, the original Switch model accounted for 57.93 million units of Switch 68.30 million units of sales; The switch light market has moved 10.36 million units in its short life.
