Peter Sutcliffe, better known as “The Yorkshire Ripper”, who murdered 13 women in England between 1975 and 1980.

In early November, serial killer Peter Sutcliffe was found to be infected with covid-19. The 74-year-old Englishman was sentenced to life in prison after killing 13 women with a hammer and attempting to kill seven others in northern England between 1975 and 1980.

The murders involved one of the major police hunts in England and the Daily Mail writes that the police laid off 2.5 million work hours in the years leading up to their arrest.

It took several years before Peter Sutcliffe could finally be arrested. According to the Daily Mail, it was until 1981 before he was captured. He then got stuck at a police checkpoint that discovered stolen license plates on his car.

After admitting that he killed the women, Peter Sutcliffe was sentenced to life in prison in May 1981. But he was only sentenced to three years in prison.

He was then transferred to Broadmoor Hospital after being diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.

However, he was jailed again for a few years after psychiatrists determined that he was stable enough to go to prison. It happened in 2016.
