Students suspected of using drugs must be able to be assessed at Halmstad Township Upper Secondary Schools. This was decided by the Education and Labor Market Committee on Monday afternoon.
– It’s a good decision. This gives our school another tool to make students think over and over again, before choosing to use drugs, says Christofer Lundholm (M), chair of the committee.
All the parties on the committee, except the Left party, were in favor of the proposal. Testing must be voluntary for students. If the principal is going to suspend a student who refuses to take a drug test, there must be basic reasons.
– We want to keep the school free of drugs and students who are under the influence of drugs. It’s about the safety of all students, says Christofer.
The new policy applies from the moment the decision is made.
