The death toll in the global crown pandemic has risen by 5,244 to just over 174,000, according to the AFP compilation. Most deaths, 109,381, have occurred in Europe.
The number of confirmed cases of infected people stands at just over 2.5 million in 193 of the world’s countries, since the virus broke out in Wuhan City in December last year. Of them, at least 567,400 were recovered, according to the compilation.
The figure for the number of infected, compiled by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the authorities of several countries, probably reflects only a waste of the real number, since not all infected are analyzed.
The United States is the most affected country, with 43,200 deaths and just over 800,000 infected. Then Italy comes with 24,648 dead and just under 184,000 infected, and Spain with 20,796 dead and 158,000 infected.
