A woman in her 50s died in an apartment fire in Jakobsberg, north of Stockholm.
The rescue service was called to the scene at 4 p.m. Friday and encountered a fully developed fire in an apartment. A few hours later, the fire was extinguished and the rescue service made sure it did not spread to the rest of the house.
Police are investigating the incident as general negligence.
– We still don’t know why it started to burn. The rescue service says the apartment is destroyed. It’s closed and technicians will check it whenever possible, says Eva Nilsson, a police press spokeswoman.
