Woman beaten at bus stop – one person arrested
A woman was taken by ambulance to hospital on Saturday afternoon after being beaten by a man at a bus stop in Höja, Malmö. A man could be arrested nearby thanks to witness statements.
The man is said to have been detained at 3.30 a few hundred meters from the bus stop, but it is unclear where exactly.
– I have no information about that, unfortunately, but it was in the Höja area. He was arrested thanks to information from witnesses at the scene, says Jimmy Modin at the police command center.
According to information from Sydsvenskan, several motorists must have witnessed the incident. Many had stopped with their cars to help the woman and could then be questioned on the spot.
The status of the woman’s injury is unclear. Police currently have no information on whether she is familiar with the man who abused her.
– We have to talk to both the man and the woman and the witnesses, says Jimmy Modin.
