Tottenham appeared to be heading for victory.
But close, no hare shoots.
A late Wolves draw confirms Tottenham’s gloomy suite.
– Control is not enough. We have to score goals and kill the game, says José Mourinho.
Tottenham got off to a dream start in the game against Wolverhampton.
After 57 seconds, the Spurs created a corner. The ball passed a sloppy Wolves defense and ended with an unmarked Tanguy Ndombele just outside the penalty area. Anguish. 1-0 Tottenham.
– This is the best player of the Spurs. He sees things that no one else sees and is exactly the type of player Tottenham need, says Bojan Djordjic in the Viaplay study.
He gave away the initiative
Ndombele appeared to be the hero of the match for Tottenham, a team that entered the match with a series of three straight games without a win.
The chances didn’t come in either direction, but the Spurs were in control of the game. In any case, he even played just over an hour.
– My instinct when I look at Tottenham in the lead is that they will give away an unnecessary initiative to their rivals. They did the same, says Bojan Djordic.
Fourth in a row without winning
The wolves grew in the match and finally the tie came. With four minutes left in regular playing time, Romain Saïss stepped forward into a corner, nodded and found the nets behind Hugo Lloris.
The cross thus means that Tottenham’s gloomy suite continues. This was the fourth game in a row without a win.
– Defensively, we have control of the game. But control is not enough. We have to score goals and kill the match, says José Mourinho to Sky Sport after the match.
