Hate Christmas? In that case, maybe it was you who stole the Christmas lights at the Höjden roundabout in Lerum? The municipal staff set up a large network with LED lights that covered the entire planting in the roundabout on Wednesday. By Thursday morning, most of the cast was gone.

– It was my boys and girls who installed it yesterday afternoon. Ten networks were connected, it will be very effective, but it takes a few hours for four people to put it in place, says park manager Magnus Andersson.
Now he’s saddened and disappointed in Lerum’s own Grinch.
– The network was allowed to sit for 15 hours. The audacity to take it also in the middle of a busy roundabout! It must have been planned, it’s not entirely easy to find all the connections and get the network from there, says Magnus Andersson.

Christmas lighting costs SEK 10,000
The lighting, which would light up and create a Christmas feeling for all passersby, was worth around SEK 10,000. The thieves did not take the ten nets with them, but Magnus Andersson has decided to remove the nets that were left in the roundabout.
– I have no money in the budget to buy new nets and having only two small nets in a large roundabout would have seemed silly, he says.
The Grinch is the bitter green character from Dr. Seuss’s 1957 children’s book, which was made into a 2000 film starring Jim Carrey. To ruin everyone else’s holiday celebration, the Grinch stole everything that belongs to Christmas.
If the Grinch, or Grinchers, in Lerum bemoan your initiative, there is a chance to bring the Christmas light back to the people of Lerum.
– Then you can come to the Technical Service, Hedeforsvägen 6 in Stenkullen and leave the nets in a box outside the door and sneak away.
The theft has been reported to the police and Magnus Andersson hopes that the rest of the city’s Christmas lights remain to the delight of all residents.
– We have about ten places where we have networks like this. I hope it continues to shine in the other places.
