America’s leading infection control expert Anthony Fauci wants the country to immediately change its corona strategy. Otherwise, the situation will get worse, he says.
The White House accuses him of participating in “political games” just before the elections.
Anthony Fauci points out that while many Americans don’t care about health advice, many hospitals are already overloaded when colder weather and flu season hit.
“You can’t be in a worse position,” he said in an interview with The Washington Post.
In the interview, Fauci also says that Joe Biden’s election campaign takes the crown pandemic “seriously from a public health perspective.”
He also says that he previously had almost daily contact with the president regarding the crown situation, but that Trump no longer wants his advice.
The White House reacted directly to Fauci’s statements.
“It is unacceptable and violates all standards for Dr. Fauci, a leading member of the president’s coronavirus specialist group and someone who has praised President Trump’s actions during the pandemic, to choose to participate in a political game three days before the elections, “Judd said. Deere also attacks Fauci for “criticizing the president in the media and showing his political sympathies by praising the president’s opponents.”
More than 230,000 people with confirmed covid-19 have died in the United States.
