GOTHENBURG. Pontus Wernbloom had wanted to play from the start, but came in immediately after the break.
On the field, he experienced Hammarby’s humiliation on IFK Gothenburg.

Pontus Wernbloom started on the bench and went straight into the second half with the score 1-0 for Hammarby.

Ferran Sibila on why Wernbloom was benched:

– We must try to get rid of individual mistakes that cost a lot. There are some goals that we offer, we do a lot for them.
How do you confidently stand up after a hit like this?
– It’s a slap in the face. The good thing about football is that there will be a next game and now it will be closed (Falkenberg, Sunday). That’s the only positive that can be said about this, and that we don’t cross paths, Wernbloom says with a tired smile after the attempt to joke in front of the press.
How serious is the situation?
– Is seriously. I don’t know how many games are left, I don’t have such a good record. But if we play like this, it will be incredibly serious. Hopefully we can turn this around and not play like this in the next game. We need to start winning. We don’t do that if we play like today.
“It’s the worst”
On several occasions during the second half, Wernbloom was heard raising his voice and getting annoyed with several of his teammates. Hosam Aiesh scratched himself, among other things.
– I think we all cursed each other and each of us above all. It is better that it be somewhat apathetic, that we want something.
– That we wouldn’t care is the worst that could happen now, says Wernbloom.
