We will soon be immune to new Palm tracks

It was that week in February when the world, which had been standing still for 34 years, began to revolve around its own axis. The primary prosecutor for the Palm murder, Krister Petersson, participated in SVT’s “Crime of the Week”.

He said: I am sure I can present what happened about the murder and who is responsible for it.

Program manager Camilla Kvartoft received a direct blush smile. Krister Petersson further stated that his goal was to be completed during the first half of 2020. This means that we will be there soon, probably in a few weeks, a maximum of 50 days.

It was then that I thought of Sven Anér. The former journalist edited the Palme-ny news magazine and wrote more than a dozen books on the murder. Although he was also interested in the Estonian disaster, he remained a mystery to the murder until his death two years ago. Now the alleged grand finale of the investigation would be lost.

I thought of everyone else. In myself even. I celebrated three years the same weekend the murder occurred and have grown up with it, following all the news and theories. One trail led to a lifelong obsession with the Ebbe Carlsson affair, the main track led me to take the train to Stockholm to take the stairs to Malmskillnadsgatan.

Some explorers are so young that their parents were barely mature when the murder occurred.

Still, I am a flyweight in this context. A close friend was already haunted at middle age. At the age of ten, he corresponded with the great Palm Spaniards, including Sven Anér, who in turn thought they exchanged letters with an adult man.

When he later became a journalist in a national editorial, the letter that the friends applauded; We have a man inside. Before my friend’s thirtieth birthday, we traveled around the country to make her a tribute movie. It ended as usual: all the threads in the film were related to the murder of Palm.

There is more. Much more. The Flashback murder thread has 130,000 posts and nearly 14 million views. The largest group on Facebook has 5,900 members and generates new discussions daily. The group combines everything from veterans of Sven Anér’s caliber to A celebrities and scorpions looking for a scoop.

Some of the members claim to have been near Sveavägen on February 28, 1986, some of whom have apparently testified in the investigation. While some explorers are so young that their parents were barely mature when the murder occurred.

Members share newspaper articles, videos, their own montages, theories, clues. The group discusses each statement by Chief Prosecutor Krister Petersson thoroughly, looking for openings in the smallest facial expressions.

Sure, there are troublemakers and provocateurs, but they generally keep everything short. Most of the members seem to be motivated by a sincere thirst for more knowledge.

And not least: the SEK 50 million reward for the one who comes with crucial advice on murder.

Soon, any day, it’s over.

So what? Sven Anér may be smiling from his sky, but what else should we do? Not everyone will buy the Krister Petersson solution, it is by nature. But if the test is waterproof, then you’re probably done.

Dreams come true and break, we become immune to new clues and the globe spins.
