We are prepared to stop lowering the employer’s contribution

During a meeting with journalists at the Riksdag, V’s likely new party leader, Nooshi Dadgostar, announced that her party will act to stop reducing the employer contribution.

He stated that V will seek the support of Christian Democrats and moderates for this, but Swedish Democrats are also needed for him to succeed. This is the prime minister that Stefan Löfven is very critical of.

– I’m surprised they legitimize the Swedish Democrats, he said during a visit to Rinkeby on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister believes that V is hypocritical when he presents proposals that require SD’s support to be carried out.

– V can talk all he wants about not negotiating with the Swedish democrats, but they are fully aware of what is required and are involved in legitimizing the SD as a decisive political force, he continues.

Nooshi Dadgostar does not believe that the Left Party can be held accountable for how the SD votes in the Riksdag.

– For me, the issue of the fight against unemployment will always be very important. We constantly put many proposals in the Riksdag, because we want other parties to vote for them, says Nooshi Dadgostar.

The Center Party and the Liberals have promoted the proposal to reduce employer contributions in the budget of employees between 19 and 23 years old. Social Democrats have previously opposed blanket cuts in employer contributions for young people. It is expensive and inefficient, believes the party. Which is also the opinion of Nooshi Dadgostar.

– This is a very inefficient expense. That’s a lot of money. They need to be used in a way that really provides new jobs, for example through money going to municipalities and regions, he says.

The support of the Swedish Democrats V’s proposal according to the party’s economic-political spokesman, Oscar Sjöstedt.

– We are prepared to do this. We want to start this part of the budget, he says at a press conference in the Riksdag.

Christian Democrats are critical of the reform but believe the Left Party issue has been raised too early.

– We are now preparing our own budget proposal and when that work is complete we will examine opportunities to act in the Riksdag, says Jakob Forssmed (KD), economic-political spokesman.

The moderates refuse to comment on Proposition V for now.

Liberal leader Nyamko Sabuni addresses M and KD directly with a call for them to do nothing in common with the Left Party.

– Regardless of power ambitions, don’t let today’s generation of youth be a loser because they don’t like the current government, he says.
