Volvo Cars gift in crisis: 100,000 face masks

Volvo Cars ordered the 100,000 masks and on Thursday the plane landed from China on Swedish soil.

The masks are now donated to the city of Gothenburg.

– The background is that we hear from the city and the region how we could help. We have a purchasing organization where we also buy non-car products and services, for example factory protection gear, says Johan Larsson, head of the Volvo Cars department making these purchases, from GP.

“Thanks: Same”

The city of Gothenburg, of course, is happy with the gift, in the midst of the crown crisis.

That’s what Tina Eide, district director of Askim-Frölunda-Högsbo, who coordinated everything, says.

– We are very grateful for this gift and for the cooperation we have with Volvo Cars. It has become a very good collaboration, both with Volvo Cars and with AB Volvo and various companies. They can really help with their global purchasing organizations, he tells GP.

“For a dialogue”

It is also open to Volvo Cars to help with more material in the future.

– Yes, we have a dialogue with possible suppliers and logistical arrangements, it depends on the needs of the material in the future. We also have a discussion about protective materials other than mouth guards, such as gloves and aprons, says Johan Larsson of Volvo Cars to GP.
