It was in a training match against Västerås that the pieces really didn’t want to fit into place for Vita Hästen, who recently borrowed five players from NHL clubs. Vita Hästen is the club that has made the most deals with North American players before this season.
When Vita Hästen played a training match against Västerås on Wednesday, four of the new hires were on the ice: Adam Werner, Fabian Zetterlund, Simon Holmström and Linus Högberg.
But it was not a success for the Norrköping team.
After a late goal in the first period, Västerås had four in the second, and by the time the game ended, they had had eight hits. The White Horse did not receive a single disc.
Västerås NHL loan officer Rasmus Asplund of Buffalo was 7-0 in the fourth period.
The game was broadcast on SportExpressen Play.
Raphael Lavoie debuted in Väsby
It should also be noted that new acquisition of Swedish newcomer Väsby, Raphael Lavoie, made a memorable debut in the training match against Södertälje. Lavoie, 19, the gigantic promise of the Edmonton organization that Rögle pitched just hours before SHL’s premiere to get ready for Väsby on Tuesday, had time for double assists and three ejections after two stints against SSK.
Väsby won that match 4-1.
