It was the MTV television channel that first reported that a far-right network was planning “serious crimes against life and health” targeting Finnish politicians and officials. Among other things, the network must have planned the time, method and victim in detail.
The information is confirmed by the Central Criminal Police (CKP) and by prosecutors, reports MTV News. A Helsinki police officer is suspected of involvement and is said to have been suspended from his post.
MTV Uutiset also has information that two of the cases would have been the Interior Minister, Maria Ohisalo, and the attorney general, Raija Toiviainen. But that an investigation into serious violent crimes against the two people is being carried out is rejected by the Prosecutor’s Office late on Friday night, YLE reports.
Commented by the Prime Minister
Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin comments on the news of the planned violence on Twitter.
– The criminal suspicions investigated by the CCP are exciting and serious, writes Marin on Friday night.
