Lodin with the Örebro 2019 jersey
Viktor Lodin now admits that he used drugs.
Timrå’s player apologizes in an open letter.
– I have let myself down and I have let down my colleagues, says the 21-year-old.
It was on Saturday that the police took Viktor Lodin away and drug-related crimes were suspected.
Now the forward himself chooses to go out and tell that he has used drugs.
– Last weekend I was caught doing drugs. I am ashamed and very saddened by what happened, says Viktor Lodin in the open letter.
Turns to fans
Timrå has previously stated that the club strongly dissociates itself from any drug use and that they offer to assist the player in following the action plan that has been developed.
– I will take responsibility for the mistake I have made, Timrå supports and helps me in this situation and I am grateful for that. For this mistake I want to apologize. An apology to the Timrå association, to all the partners, the fans, the members and everyone who follows Timrå. What I did was wrong, I will learn something from this for the future and participate in the work of the association against drugs and pure gambling, says Viktor Lodin.
Two seasons at SHL
Viktor Lodin originally hails from Leksand but developed into Örebro’s junior business.
The last two seasons, Viktor Lodin has played for Örebro in SHL and was also loaned to Vita Hästen in allsvenskan hockey last season.
For the next season, Viktor Lodin signed a one-year contract with Timrå.
– It’s a personal tragedy. “We will work hard to get this guy back to playing ice hockey,” club manager Jonas Torines tells Sundsvalls Tidning.
