Västtrafik changes the name of several bus lines

Not only do the line names change, to make it easier to identify an express bus, the buses will also be pink in front.

All express lines will change their names in the future, but the first three lines are Yellow, Pink and Blue, which will be X1, X2 and X3 when the schedules change on December 13 of this year.

Work on changing the other express lines as well will continue until 2026, Västtrafik writes in a press release.

Also the trunk buses will have a new look, they will be green at the front. But they keep their usual names. Bus replacement works have started, including line 16.

“It will make it easier”

– Uniform names and designs will make it easier to travel and find the right one for both seasoned and new travelers, says Mikael Olsson, head of traffic affairs at Västtrafik, in the press release.

The purpose of the changes is to make it clearer for travelers.

– The purpose of the express buses is to be a quick link between the outer areas and the central exchanges. In the new design concept, the abbreviation was express X. We understand that it might seem like a big change to travelers like this at first, but we believe and hope you’ll get used to it quickly, says Mikael Olsson, in the press release.
