North Korea is believed to have fired two ballistic missiles. A senior US official told CNN.
Now, the US military and intelligence services are analyzing data to determine the type of robots involved and how far they traveled.
The United States tracks all North Korean weapons tests via radar and satellites. American satellites can detect heat traces from a fired robot almost immediately. In this case, it is not yet clear whether these are short-range, medium-range or intercontinental robots.
Hours earlier, South Korea’s military leadership said North Korea had fired an unidentified projectile into the sea between the Korean peninsula and Japan.
The Japanese Coast Guard also claims that a ballistic missile may have been fired from North Korea. Ships are warned not to get too close to falling objects, writes Reuters.
