WASHINGTON DC Joe Biden is announced as the next president of the United States in various media.

When the news came on Saturday, the streets of the capital erupted in a huge party.

– This is an incredible day, says Ben Levinson, 19 years old.

Thousands of people gathered in downtown Washington on Saturday to celebrate the next president of the United States. Four days have passed since the elections and the final sprint between the candidates was incredibly even. Now the capital, where more than 90 percent voted for Joe Biden, breathes a sigh of relief.

In just a few minutes, the streets were filled with thousands of happy Biden voters. Traffic was shut down in much of the city as crowds made a pilgrimage to the White House.

Susan Prolman, 55, stands in Black Lives Matter Plaza with an American flag in hand and is relieved that change is finally happening.

– After four years, we can finally celebrate our democracy and that we can return to normal, he says.

To her, it is obvious that there are many who cheer and celebrate to get rid of Donald Trump.

“Millions and millions of people have felt oppressed by the president,” he said.

In the middle of the crowd is a young man jumping for joy. He is incredibly relieved that Joe Biden has been proclaimed, for him it has shaped his first time in adulthood to live in Trump’s America.

– I was 16 when he was elected, he has shaped my entire political conscience. But now I’m going to college, Biden has won, and we have a chance to make this country better, says 19-year-old Ben Levinson.

You don’t care about allegations of voter fraud

While the streets of Washington have been transformed into one big party, Donald Trump is at his golf course in Virginia. According to CBS, he did not want to be in the White House when Joe Biden was proclaimed president of the United States, and in a statement he wrote that Biden had been proclaimed president for false reasons.

But among Biden’s fans in the capital, there is no concern about what the president might do.

– We can escort him out of the White House, he’ll have to go. Like Biden said, we can escort you out of the White House. I long to see it, says Ben Levinson.

Susan Prolman is no more afraid of the power of the president now that voters have shown clear support for someone else.

– Your loss is so extreme that you have no other choice. You may have an outbreak, but that’s it.

Yann Diedro, 32, has taken his family to the festivities. For him, this day is memorable for all Americans. He believes that it is very important that Trump finally loses.

– He’s a maniac, a well-known racist. He changed a lot, and it is important that we regain joy and respect among ourselves, he says.
