Bollnäs’ match against Motala was interrupted in extra time.

After a hard effort from Motala’s Anders Persson, Bollnästalangen Oskar Westh fell ill and hit his head.

At midnight, the Bollnäs player arrived at Gävle hospital by ambulance.

– Such a player should not be allowed to be on the bandy field this season, Bollnäs father and coach Andreas Westh tells Bandypuls.

Bollnäs advanced to their second straight win in the home game against Motala, but the match was interrupted in the final stage due to injury. In extra time, Oskar Westh fell seriously and hit his head on the ice after an tackle from Anders Persson, who received a red card.

– That’s not nice of Anders Persson. It’s a total hit, says Sportbladet Play commentator Stefan Österberg on the stream.

While waiting for an ambulance from Söderhamn, both teams left the ice.

When the game was stopped, there was one minute left to play.

One hour break

Around 22:20, less than an hour later, the match resumed and the team only waited for the final signal and Bollnäs could be credited with the victory.

– It’s hard to see Oskar lying on the ice and feeling as bad as he seems. It’s very heavy. But Motala did well to be able to come out this minute anyway. Sportingly, says Bollnäs goalkeeper Patrik Aihonen on Sportbladet Play after the match.

Referee Pavel Silinski was also interviewed after the match.

– We follow what is in the rule book and what we have to do. He was grateful that it turned out the way it did, but it was a shame it had to be played, he says about how the game ended after the break.

The coach was furious

Andreas Westh, assistant coach at Bollnäs and father of Oskar Westh, spoke about the situation to Bandypuls.

– A terribly unpleasant and unpleasant investment, it can be a career that is over. And it can be life-threatening with a blow to the neck and head, he says.

– He’s completely gone, he’s been unconscious for a while. It’s so sad, Westh says.

At midnight, the Bollnäs player arrived at Gävle hospital by ambulance. The overnight damage situation is still unclear.
