Manchester United returned to a 3-1 win over Everton on Saturday and thus now have ten points after seven Premier League games. Now a break awaits him from the national team, and then Victor Nilsson Lindelöf may not be able to enter the game for Sweden.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær now confirms, via the club’s website, that Nilsson Lindelöf has been injured. This despite the fact that the hill played for 90 minutes against Everton.
– It’s Victor’s back, Marcus’s (Rashford) shoulder, and Luke Shaw’s back. These are the three that I can mention directly. Hope everyone else is okay, the Norwegian summarizes the new injuries on United’s website.
Solskjær also stated before the match that Nilsson Lindelöf was not sure about the match, but that the Swede continued to play throughout the match. The midfielder was also at United’s meeting with Basaksehir in the Champions League on Wednesday with back problems. So I was on the bench, but I couldn’t play.
Sweden’s national team captain Janne Andersson also stated earlier this week that he plans to rest a number of Swedish stars at the training meeting with Denmark on Wednesday. Instead, he wants to play the stars against Croatia (November 14) and France (November 17) in the group stage of the Nations League.
– It will be a similar arrangement (like last time), based on the origin of the players and that we played on Wednesday. Also, it is an opportunity for me to see other players, who are not allowed to play as much if it is only competitive matches. My basic attitude is that we should equalize similarly to how we did against Russia, Andersson said at the time.
Nilsson Lindelöf will appear in nine games for Manchester United this fall.
