Unions and employers have now received a final offer and agreed to a 5.4 percent wage deal for 29 months, expiring on March 31, 2023.
– The Covid-19 pandemic and the great economic blow as a result of an international wave of efforts to prevent the spread of the infection have posed a very great challenge in handling the negotiations, says Tomas Undin, chief negotiator of technology companies in a press release.
– The agreement contains a difficult balance between the conditions for companies in very different industries that are affected very differently by the crown crisis. It is clear that the level in the new agreement is high for many basically viable companies that currently have a low ability to pay, he continues.
The new agreement will take effect on November 1, 2020.
– This agreement, which was reached after the negotiations that began this spring, when the old agreements expired, generates tranquility and stability. Looking at a longer period, the industry has long-term conditions to develop competitiveness, says Per Widolf, Industriarbetsgivarna chief negotiator in a press release.
Both industry unions and employers have called a press conference on Sunday morning.
