This week, charges were brought against a man in his 50s for the murder that took place in Ulricehamn in early May. Police were alerted to a riot in a house around 10 pm that night. In the apartment, the patrol found a man badly stabbed who was taken to hospital. He later died from his injuries.
The preliminary investigation, which has now been made public, shows that the victim spoke to police shortly before dying. The interrogation lasted a couple of minutes. Then the man was taken to the operating room.
Who did this to you?
– It is NN (the accused) who did this to me.
Why did NN do this to you?
– It’s because of jealousy.
Prosecutor: reason for jealousy
Prosecutor Carolyn Westeröd has taken note of the reason for the jealousy when she prosecuted the suspect.
– The aggressor comes home with a friend and his partner is there with another man. I mean he is upset because she is alone with this man, the aggressor has drunk alcohol during the day and attacks the victim, by force, he says.
The couple have also testified about jealousy. But the accused of murder denies it in questioning with the police.
– No, no, it’s not dangerous.
– I wouldn’t use a knife anyway.
I got rid of the clothes
Another man, the friend with whom the alleged perpetrator was in company at the time of the murder, is charged in the case. It is suspected of blatantly protecting criminals. According to the prosecutor, he helped the suspect to leave the house and hide him. He is also said to have helped the man accused of the murder remove his bloody clothes and shoes after the act.
The men have admitted that they were in the apartment, but both accusations are directed against them.
In addition to the murder, the man in his 50s is charged with assault on another man. It is also said that this act took place in the house itself.
