Ulf Kristersson: He won’t let C dictate the government matter

Before the elections for two years, Ulf Kristersson said he could not imagine “cooperating, speaking, collaborating or co-governing with the Swedish democrats.”

But the moderates have changed their attitude and opened up to cooperation with the party.

– When we moved forward and thought we would form a quadripartite government, that was the common message of the alliance, he says in Actually and continues:

– But I have never accepted a situation where you have to talk to all parties except one and cannot accept the silent support of the party. So I thought it was bad and I still believe it.

Criticized by Annie Lööf

Annie Lööf, leader of the Center party, said in Sunday agenda that he was concerned that “M would choose to put state finances in the hands of a xenophobic populist party.”

Kristersson comments on the criticism saying that he does not want to label the parties, neither SD nor C.

– I analyze the problems: what problems do I see in Sweden, what solutions do I want to implement if I have the responsibility of forming a government. And I will talk to everyone who is willing to work together to go in the right direction.

I don’t want to form a government with SD

However, the moderate leader is not prepared to form a government with DS because the views of the parties differ on many important issues, such as foreign policy and the environment. Instead, he lists Christian and Liberal Democrats as potential government colleagues.

– Right now it is obvious that it is M and KD who are the nucleus of the Swedish bourgeoisie. I would like liberals to become part of that core too.

Is the Center Party still a possible partner of the government?

– I like to talk to the Center Party because there are many issues on which we have quite similar opinions, but I will never allow the issue of government to be decided by the fact that C does not want to talk to other parties, says Kristersson.
