Among other things, moderates want more foreign nationals who commit crimes in Sweden to be deported, including unconvicted gang members, something that is criticized for being legally uncertain.

– How do you know that a person is a gang criminal if he has not been convicted of any crime? That’s when you become a criminal, when you are convicted of the crimes, said Justice Minister Morgan Johansson.

According to him, the proposal is not serious.

– Now you are depressed and really scratching the bottom of the proposals, and then it becomes like this: A little frivolous elements of things that are not very well thought out.

Should be used with caution

But Ulf Kristersson (M) said the law should not be used negligently.

– You will not meet with people in general, you will meet with people whom the police have founded reasons to suspect may prepare for crime, who are involved in connection with a high risk of crime.

He also said that this is a way to overcome serious crimes.

– We must deal with serious crimes, said Ulf Kristersson.
