Turkey reacts angrily to a cartoon showing President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

The image, which shows Erdogan sitting down and drinking beer in only his underwear while lifting the skirt of a hijab-clad woman to spy on her bare buttocks, is “disgusting” and an expression of “cultural racism,” according to President Fahrettin. Altun.

“The anti-Muslim agenda of French President Macron is paying off!” He states in a post on Twitter.

Turkey also threatens to take legal and diplomatic action against Charlie Hebdo and France.

The publication of the newspaper takes place in light of a flamboyant conflict between France and several countries of the Muslim world, as Macron went to war against Islamism after the brutal assassination of teacher Samuel Paty on October 16. Paty, who was stabbed to death and then had his head cut off, had shown cartoons of Muhammad shortly before the event during a lesson on freedom of expression, which is believed to be the motive for his murder.

Erdogan has responded by urging Macron to undergo a “psychic test”, something that has prompted France to call its ambassador home and several EU countries to join Macron.
