Nearly 5,700 Americans with confirmed COVID-19 have died in the past seven days.

But the president’s son, Donald Trump junior, says the deaths are “almost non-existent,” in an interview with Fox News.

On average, around 800 people died from Covid-19 per day in October, according to The Washington Post. Over the past week, the daily figure has risen slightly: on Wednesday and Thursday, more than 1,000 people died per day, and during Friday afternoon local time, about 920 people were reported dead, the newspaper writes.

However, President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump junior, does not believe the numbers are particularly high, but comments them as “almost non-existent” when interviewed by Fox News television channel.

– We have gained control over this, we understand how it works, they have the treatment methods to be able to handle it. If you look at it, check out my Instagram, they (death figures, red note) have become almost non-existent, says Donald Trump junior.

The United States is one of the countries most affected by the corona pandemic, according to statistics from Johns Hopkins University. Nearly 230,000 Americans with COVID-19 have died since the infection began to spread in the country.
