Kim Jong-un winked at Trump’s Secretary of State Sarah Sanders during the summit.

The president then joked about sending her to North Korea and “bringing one for the team.”

– Your husband and children will miss you. But you will be a hero for your country, he said in the car heading to the airport and laughed.

Like an endless line of people who have screened in the vicinity of Trump over the years in the White House, former press secretary Sarah Sanders has now written a book, too.

But unlike all scandal books, where angry former employees reveal wrongdoing from within, this is a friendly description.

However, this does not mean that certain parts of the book about her years as a press secretary in the White House can easily be problematic for Donald Trump. Possibly, but probably not.

The Guardian, who read the book “Speaking for Myself,” tells a story that took place during the high-profile summit in Singapore in June 2018 between Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.

I gave Kim a throat lozenge

She writes that Kim Jong-un reluctantly received a Tic Tac tablet from Trump after he “blew it up theatrically in the air to assure Kim it was just a throat lozenge” and not a poison blister.

After a little talk about sports, including women’s soccer, Sanders, who was next to her, suddenly realized that Kim looked her straight in the eye and winked at her.

“I looked down quickly and kept taking notes,” he writes in the book.

“All I could think about was: What just happened?”

In the car on the way to the airport after the summit, he told Trump and his then chief of staff, John Kelly, what had happened.

Kim Jong-un ran into you. “He ran into you like hell,” Trump exclaimed.

Sanders said that was not what she wanted to say and asked her to stop talking about it.

Joking in the car

But Trump, backed by Kelly, continued to joke about the incident, which was difficult for his deeply religious press secretary.

“Okay Sarah, that’s the point. You go to North Korea and take one for the team. Your husband and children will miss you, but you will be a hero to your country,” Trump said as he and the chief of staff their jaws dropped.

Sarah Sanders’ book, subtitled “Faith, Freedom and the Struggle of Our Lives Inside the Trump White House,” will be published next week.

She was a White House press secretary for nearly two years until June 2019. After years with Trump, she has been a political commentator on Fox News and is said to be interested in becoming governor of Arkansas, where her father Mike Huckabee was. between 1996 and 2007.
