United States: President Donald Trump.

US President Donald Trump defends the 17-year-old who was arrested after shooting two people to death during protests in the Wisconsin town of Kenosha. Trump says the 17-year-old acted in self-defense and likely would have been killed by the protesters had he not opened fire on them.

On Tuesday, Trump will visit Kenosha, which has been rocked by protests against police violence against blacks over the past week.

A little over a week ago, the black Jacob Blake was seriously shot by the police. A few days later, the situation escalated with the arrival of activists, riots and looting. Two protesters were shot and killed by the now-arrested, incarcerated 17-year-old.

– He tried to get away from them … And then he fell and then they attacked him very violently. I guess he was in big trouble … He probably would have been killed, says Trump.

Prosecuted for murder

The 17-year-old will be charged with two murders, his lawyer says he will claim in court that he acted in self-defense.

The president says he will not be meeting with Blake’s family during the visit to Kenosha.

Trump wants to crack down on widespread protests against police violence that are taking place in various cities across the United States. An outspoken man criticized by Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

“Tonight, the president refused to deny the violence. He does not even want to distance himself from one of his supporters who is accused of murder,” Biden said in a statement.

New liaison office

Trump, for his part, believes that violence will increase if Biden wins the November presidential election and that the presidential candidate capitulates to a left-wing mafia.

“In America, we will never give in to the mafia, because if the mafia wins power, democracy is really dead,” Trump said.

To investigate what Trump calls unrest from the left, the country’s Justice Department and Department of Homeland Security will establish a joint liaison office, the president said.
