The United States is rocked by police violence, riots, Black Lives Matter demonstrations, and high death rates from the corona pandemic.
Memorial ceremonies are still being held for those who died in the deadliest terror attack on US soil, albeit with crown restrictions.
Trump and Biden honor victims of Flight 93
Both Donald Trump, with his wife Melania, and Joe Biden will attend the Flight 93 memorial near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Donald Trump will deliver a speech on Friday morning, East Coast local time. Joe Biden will attend the ceremony in the afternoon, it is unclear if the fierce rivals will collide.
However, Joe Biden was at the memorial service at Ground Zero in Manhattan earlier this Friday and met with Trump’s Vice President Mike Pence.
The duo saluted each other, the AP reports.
The plane crashed after passengers boarded the hijackers
The hijackers of Flight 93 are believed to have planned to crash the plane into the heart of American democracy, the Capitol in Washington, DC, but it was the only one of the four hijacked planes that missed its target.
During the trip, the passengers received information that two planes had crashed into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York and decided to try to control the hijackers. The fight ended with the plane crashing near Shanksville and about 40 passengers were killed along with the terrorists.
