The trial against EU MP Peter Lundgren begins today.
He is accused of sexually harassing a fellow party member, a fact that he himself does not consider should be the responsibility of the Judiciary.

The party, which in police questioning has been described as “wet”, was held in a hotel room on Nacka Strand in connection with the 2018 SD election conference. Expressen revealed the suspicion of sexual abuse. In a recording that the newspaper was able to publish, the woman is heard saying:
– He squeezed me a lot with his legs. I panicked like this, I panicked
The woman herself has not filed a report against Lundgren and has not wanted to participate in the investigation. To each question from the interrogator, she answers variants of “no comment.”

Peter Lundgren himself admits that he took the woman by the breasts, but wants to reduce the incident.
“It has been clear to me from the outset that this is not a matter for the Swedish judiciary, an attitude that I maintain even now, when testimonies have been received, but also after questioning the plaintiff. There have simply been no irregularities, “he has previously responded in an email to Aftonbladet.
By questioning the police, Lundgren means that it was the woman who first flirted with him defiantly.

The head of the preliminary investigation asks in an interrogation what Lundgren was trying to do when he put his hands under the woman’s clothes.
– There was no intention on my part, he responds.
– I hold her by the waist and she pushes her breasts forward and winks at me and yes, that’s how I say, that … in hindsight, of course, Ramlösa would have been better and drunk.
When the police reproduce Lundgren’s version of the incident for the woman, she does not believe that he expressed himself that way. Otherwise, you don’t want to comment on your version.
The incident in the hotel room resulted in a high-profile video posted by the Swedish Democrats. In it, Lundgren said that he had been a fool and that he had behaved like a fool. At the same time, he believes that the matter should never reach the public. He blames the party’s former friend and colleague in the European Parliament, Kristina Winberg.
– What’s behind this whole thing is that Kristina Winberg has tried and murdered my character, more or less, to win a better place on the EU electoral list. It’s political foul play, he says in police questioning.
In connection with knowledge of the alleged harassment, Winberg was removed from the EU list of Swedish democrats.
